Lennox Lewis' trainer believes a heavyweight rematch against Ukranian Vitali Klitschko could occur as early as April.

Emanuel Steward believes the champion wants to make one final statement before retiring for good.

"He has not made a commitment but I've told everybody in our camp to be prepared for an April or May fight," Steward said.

"It's a tough way to go out with a fight like the last one. I think he wants to get it out of his way before finishing his career."

Klitschko was ahead on all three scorecards when they met last June and the Ukranian believes he would have gone on to win had he not suffered multiple cuts on his face.

He said: "I beat Lennox Lewis the first time and I will be ready to beat him the second time. If he doesn't want to fight me, I will fight Corrie Sanders instead."

I can't wait to see rematch of these two great boxers. Hope we will see it in April.

Oh, Lewis is going out while he's on top...

There will be no rematch with Vitali Klitschko. Heavyweight champ Lennox Lewis announced his retirement Friday after a 14-year career.

"It's a special day in my life," Lewis said. "I'd like to announce that June 21, 2003, was my last fight as a professional boxer."

"It has been a great honor to be the standard bearer of boxing for the last decade," he added. "Let the next era begin."

"I've completed all my goals and now it's time for me say goodbye," Lewis said. "I definitely wanted to say goodbye at the top and now I am at the top."

With Lewis retired, Klitschko is expected to meet No. 2 contender Corrie Sanders for the WBC title.

Don't know who is Corrie Sanders, but we'll see , time will show us
